The charity fundraising
The seismic events that have recently hit the center of Italy have destroyed many buildings in several Italian municipalities of Umbria, Marche and Lazio. The shock of October 30 was particularly intense and destructive to Norcia and Cascia and made all school facilities unusable.
Fiam Italia, Biesse and Fondazione Mediolanum Onlus worked together to support Fondazione Rava NPH Italia Onlus in the project to rebuild an elementary school in Cascia. In occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Ghost chair, international renowned designers have reinterpreted and decorated this design icon in a special "resized" version to put it at auction and devolve the proceeds into charity. But there is still a lot to do.

A great result for the charity dinner by Fiam Italia, Biesse and Fondazione Mediolanum.
The “A new school for Cascia” Charity Dinner was held Thursday, 15 June, at Pesaro's enchanting Villa Miralfiore and saw the participation of numerous guests and partners who actively contributed to the fund raising, thus giving even greater value to this project of solidarity.
Numerous institutions and guests addressed the assembly, beginning with the welcome by Minister Alfano which kicked off the evening, followed by speeches by Daniele Livi (CEO of Fiam Italia), Alessandra Selci (representing the Selci family for Biesse), Sara Doris (President of the Fondazione Mediolanum Onlus), Maria Vittoria Rava (President of Fondazione Francesca Rava), and Vittorio Livi (founder of Fiam Italia as well as the host of the event).

In celebration of the new school year, Fondazione Francesca Rava and Fondazione Mediolanum ONLUS engaged the middle schoolers of Cascia in laboratories overseen by a pair of artists who collaborate with prestigious company FIAM and who helped them manufacture works of art using glass.

The total profit of the Biesse Collection merchandise generated at Ligna will be entirely given to the children affected by the recent earthquake in Central Italy.
