Workshop “The Smart Plant in the Industry 4.0 National Plan”
This past 21 February 2017 the 1st National Technological Workshop Cluster focusing on the Smart Factory was held at the Milan Polytechnic. The event was organised by CFI, a non-profit that aims to create a stable manufacturing community to actively develop and implement a strategy grounded in research and innovation thereby increasing the nation's competitive edge.The introductory plenary session included speeches by the Dean of the Milan Polytechnic, Ferruccio Resta, representatives for the MISE, Stefano Firpo, and MIUR, Oscar Pasquali, the President of the Smart Plant Cluster, Gianluigi Viscardi, the President of the Scientific Committee for the Smart Plant Cluster, Tullio Tolio, and Confindustria Industrial Policy Director, Andrea Bianchi. Several parallel work sessions followed, focusing on various topics in which speakers were able to interact and work together to outline initiatives for industrial development projects that fall under the strategic Industry 4.0 umbrella.
Over the course of the session focussing on tools, methods and strategies for industrial sustainability Davide Andreatini, Technical Director - Machining Centres, shared his experience with energy efficiency in machine tools for wood.
