The factory comes to the mobile phone: general manager Stefano Porcellini discusses the IoT challenge with Il Sole 24 Ore

Connecting machines to be able to analyse data in real time, to improve maintenance and to activate additional services.

Those are the goals of SOPHIA, the IoT platform developed by Biesse and Accenture to perfectly address the challenges of the Industry 4.0. The general manager of Biesse, Stefano Porcellini, walked through the project with daily newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore: "We want to guide companies to new technology, providing a positive service experience that responds to their needs: it's our strategy for keeping one step ahead of the competition, fostering customer loyalty by offering a superior level of service".
Meanwhile the price of Biesse shares came near 40 euros per share. This past Friday, 13 October, shares closed at € 39.94, establishing yet another of the many records set since it was first traded on the Stock Market in June 2001. With this new record, Stock Market capitalisation has nearly reached 1.1 billion euros, proving that the company is capable of bringing in new investors both in Italy and abroad. Compared to the same period last year, the price of Biesse shares is up 151.3%.
